Orienteering race (National League) 18:45 [5] *** 3.2 km (5:52 / km)

Sprint at University of Tasmania - Launceston. Achilles had pulled up sore all week after last weekend and didn't feel good for this one. Course was well set with loads of controls amounsgt the buildings. Lost time at no.6 (10 secs), 7 (30 secs), 10 (15 secs) and 17 (50 secs) so not a good run. Finished in 12th, 3.5 minutes behind Julian.

Middle Distance at Ben Bullen. Achilles was very sore prior to starting and to make the run worse orienteered very badly through the first 5 controls. Once we got out into the open it wasn't too bad. Finished in 16th, 14 minutes behind Julian.

O at Old Woman's Creek. Lost 5 minutes on no.3 and then caught back up to Alex at no.6 who passed me at no.3. We ran the next few to no.12 then after a discussion he went straight and I went round the track to no.13 losing another 5 minutes. Other than the 10 minute loss, orienteering was ok but very tentative on my bad ankles and found it hard to get any confidence at all. Don't think I'll be making a full-time return to orienteering anytime soon and will be sticking to the running.

Times: Steve/Prong/Bert-85, Greg Barbour-89, Alex-90.
