Still feeling crappy running. Not sure what's wrong with me. Lost small bits of time on a couple and stupid route choice to 11 cost me a minute. Then even stupider punching wrong control at 12 for an mp.

Run race (Rafferty's Coastal Run) 3:09:03 [5] 36.11 km (5:14 / km) +648m 4:48 / km
shoes: Asics Kayano 20

Nice mix of trails. Felt ok. Finished 6th. Pretty happy with that considering:

-having a baby a few days before
-limited sleep from watching Ashes, Origin, Le Tour, Wimbledon
-a few too many beers the night before
-no carb loading, just a few BBQ's
-short training lead up

Fitness levels still a bit off, next week is gonna be tough.

Start was pretty quick with a Danish guy sprinting off as I tried to hang onto Glenn Horrocks with Patrick on my tail. Got through the first map on Meadowbank ok prob a minute off the lead.

2nd map was on East Ermington where I was mainly trying to hang onto Steve R, we caught the Danish guy back up by the map change but by then Steve was getting away with Glenn out of sight.

3rd map on West Ermington I really ballsed up 17, thought I was running to 18 so took a wrong turn which ended up being 500m extra. Lost a good 2+ min. Got to 17 where Patrik had caught me back up.

4th map on Upjohn Park had Patrik on my tail again and was starting to gap him but I was too early on 23 and he caught back up. Managed to hold him off through the last few controls. Finished 4th, well back on Glenn (85) and Steve (89), Dane (91).
