Orienteering race (South London 10K Trail) 38:00 [5] *** 10.0 km (3:48 / km) +100m 3:37 / km
ahr:181 max:188 spiked:11/11c shoes: Brooks Trance 8

Mass Start with a big field of 150 on Richmond Park map which the course was a mix of forest and single trails and ankle high grassland.

Race started off pretty intense and was just trying to hold on to leaders for first few controls. Was very surprised that I could run that pace at the moment considering my training intensity has gone downhill in the past few months. Just goes to show that a good pre-season base sets up the rest of the year nicely.

Was in 3rd/4th most of the race and managed to squeeze into 2nd going to last control to about 8-9 seconds down from Edward Catmur. GPS tracked us right on 10K so happy with time considering varied terrain and finding controls, although it was very simple navigation.

O at St.Julians Wood. Real thick, steep and slippery course. Got caught in brambles up to my head in places. Overran a few on a 1:5000 map, especially the 1st by a long way. Other than that didn't too too badly. Don't think anyone was near my time.
