Not the best route, and not feeling 100% today. Shame a bush map only had 1 control in the bush too. Got all controls in 41.54, Steve-37, Richard Morris-39, Glenn H-41.

Ok route, just lost a little bit of time overrunning small path into #22 and looking too early at #3. Rolled ankle about 1km was ended up being limiting at times. Lucky it was a flat road course. Got all in 40.24, Ondrej-38.34, Steve R-38.54, Brooner-39.

Orienteering race (WHO Cup) 39:17 [5] *** 6.84 km (5:45 / km) +75m 5:27 / km
spiked:15/18c shoes: Asics Kayano 22

Course starting with a short Sprint around Castle Hill Showground then bush around Fred Caterson Reserve. Didn't go hard out as was very hot and tired from last nights efforts. Also made a couple sloppy mistakes not concentrating and purposely ran the slower bush routed where possible. Won by 8 min.

Great new map of Sheldon Forest with some very nice trails. Felt pretty good and I think had a decent route. Lost 45 secs at #21 which a few have agreed was mapped all wrong. I got stuck following an unmapped track and ended up well down the hill. Skipped #7 which would have been a net 20 point loss. So got 590-20 for 570. Steve R-580, Paul Shoemark-570, Ondrej-560.

Good course set by Keelan at Knightsbridge which is a rare new Sydney map for me. Some great trails in there. Was so hot by the time I ran and was feeling pretty tired. Didn't lose much time besides a few 5 sec hesitations around the circle looking for the feature. Looking back at the course afterwards didn't pick the best route choice but didn't matter in the end. Got all controls in 44 min.

Run around the rain at Meadowbank. Was in a bit of a rush to run after taking ages to get there and needing to leave early so course wasn't planned very well. Stupid route at the start going #1 and then looking for #30 below the overpass as I didn't bring descriptions and then took a few slightly wrong turns to #26 so not a good start. After that felt good, but should have got #25 at the start. Got all controls except #9 near the finish in 48 min for 550 points. Think I could have got 570 without the errors and a better route through the first 1km. Steve got 580 points at around 4 min/km, awesome!

Run race (Red Bull Dune Dusters) 50:47 [5] 8.0 km (6:21 / km) +39m 6:12 / km
shoes: Asics Kayano 22

Started off conservatively with Brooner and probably hit the first dune in around 30th place. Felt quite comfortable for first half and had got up into 13th and the lead group just 1 dune ahead. Still with Brooner trading footprints, we passed 3 more in a group approaching the really steep dunes. I was then having trouble as my shoes were filling with sand and my toes were getting sore. I couldn't hold Brooner for last couple km's as I couldn't stretch out on anything but uphills because of the sand in my shoes losing a few seconds per downhill and a few more on the flatter sections. Don't think I would have caught him anyway. Finished in 10th place, 30 secs down on Brooner in 9th and 5-6 min off the leaders including Courtney Atkinson and Stu Adams who had won the 2 previous years. Thankfully course ended up about 1km shorter than last year. Can't decide whether it was 'fun' or not. Sand running not my favourite kind. Magical area though. Toes very tender afterwards.

Pretty good course with a lot of trails. Was too scared of the light crossing at #18 on Epping Road. Could have potentially lost 2 minutes waiting so skipped it out.

Started out 2-12-30-5-28-13-14-20-25-21-7-22-10-17-3-19 then tried bush bashing it up to near #29 but had no idea where I was coming out. Luckily I guessed the right direction but lost time figuring it out. Steve R caught me at 9 then had a fun run in with him through 27-26-24-15-6-4-8-23-11-1. Doesn't happen often where you get to run for an extended period with someone on these.

Ended up top score with Ondrej on 570, Steve 560. Happy I went as was contemplating not running due to being hungover from a day at the races and not turning up to work earlier till midday.
