O race (Forest) 1:28 [3]

BAOC Hankley Common - Brown

Got the train to Farnham for this one. After running last night and planning to run tomorrow, still wanted to be able to run round. Not just stagger round.

Running speed was steady.

As I crossed the last paths on the way to #5, I lost map contact. Lost about 4mins relocating, but I don't understand why it went wrong. The map suddenly stopped matching was on the ground. Hope RG goes up, so I can see what I did wrong.

Drifted too far north to #15, but read the terrain well to realise what I'd done. About 2mins.

O race (Street-O) 1:06:04 [3]

Was running ok. Not super fast, but ok. Executing reasonably well and enjoying trickier that usual navigating for a street-o.

I inexplicably switched off at about 50mins. Didn't plan my route back, but carried on control picking. Checked again at 58mins and still a long way from the finish. Ran back as fast as I could, but left a lot of points that would have helped keep my score high. Still well over time.

Was good fun, but this should have been a good run as well.

O race (Forest) 53:01 [3]

Need to give these areas more respect. Just running and hoping isn't good enough. I will apply myself better next time.

Parallel error on the way to #3. Stopped one path too early. Pace counting in the rough open and checking off the paths was rubbish. Realised something was wrong quickly and had to loop round to go to #3. Lost about 90s.

Ended up on a path that I don't think was mapped on the way to #5, but I'd lost map contact. All a bit too loose. Lost about 60s.

Stood in the wrong depression at #6. It was the right shape, but too close to the paths. The right one was 25m NW. Sloppy again. Lost well over 2mins.

A bit too high going to #14, even going safe to the path junction close to it first. Needed a better bearing.

Surprised at how slow I was running again today. i'd felt much better with my 2 midweek runs. Only a short ride to get here as well.
