SM Lång final
Heaps better than yesterday - goal was to stay calm and in control.
Brain was more tired than my body so right from the start was off the pace and taking longer to make decisions etc and also wasn't aggressive enough through the forest because of this but an almost entirely clean run technically so can't complain.
Got even more tired towards the end and had to keep reminding myself to keep moving forwards.

Watch switched off for a part so dist/climb not super accurate
more coming.

SM Lång kval
Not good, head not in it at all and just super distracted the whole way around made for lots of mistakes.
Lost time on #2 after an alright start. Should've just taken the road the whole way around instead of stuffing around without keeping good contact. Luckily was checking my compass and attempting to correct a bit so wasn't too horrific but no plan or contact doesn't end well. Lost more time on #3 because I couldn't tell which side of the hill the gully was on/having trouble interpreting map detail. Rushed and bad exit afterwards so continued to stuff up the leg to #4. Didn't look for options and just went so had no idea what I was doing, where I was etc. Eventually bashed my way out of the green and just followed my compass to hit the track in the middle of the leg, then started thinking again and was better Lost even more time near the circle, because I wasn't sure whereabouts I was along the hill nor how high and was too low so didn't see it. Thinking better for the next few so they were okay. Picked a bad route out of #6 then wasn't hardly checking compass so went waay out of my way again. Towards the other end didn't keep contact so stuffed around in the thick then again in the circle just missed it and stuffed around trying to relocate. Also a bit distracted here because a heap of elite guys smashed through from behind and I just lost my train of thought and focus for a bit. Last few were fine.

So could've been a LOT better easily. Just needed to think better.
I guess I was a bit out of the big race mentality so was good to be reminded of this.
Tough but fun and beautiful forest - saw heaps of those cool mushrooms that are red with white spots!

Easy about.
Felt a bit slow and tired and stomach was feeling a bit yuck even though I had lunch almost 4 hours before. Glutes weren’t working much at all either.
Lake was really calm and pretty this arvo.
