Yarra Valley Grammar - sprint relay
Running first leg for QLD juniors.
Bleh run. Not quite awake yet so brain wasn't working and couldn't think as quick as I would've liked to = reading slow and missing important things. Legs weren't too bad so they definitely saved me a bit.
But things were going mostly okay until this lady full on ran into me on the way to #6 and winded me, didn't even apologise, and I just lost it a bit and was left a bit flustered and even more out of it, so after that wasn't great. Not an excuse but still. Did a 180 coming out of #8 and lost a good 30s there.
Wished I could've been feeling a bit better so I could enjoy it more.

Kurunjang Schools
I was so tired and out of it, I forgot my descriptions holder. Then I lost over 20s at the start triangle trying to find where I was on the map. Was two steps behind myself at each control at the start because they were short legs and I was moving a lot faster than I was thinking. The next section in the other school was better, I was thinking quick and going well. Had missed the closed fences going to #11 so had to change my route last minute and go back around to the road (30s). Then started second guessing myself a bit so wasn't running fast enough here to stop losing more time. Missed the gap in the fence before the spectator (5s) then had to stop and sort myself out a bit at the map flip (15s). A bit behind myself again at #18 so took the wrong route choice to #19 (20s) and to #20 (5s).
So overall not great. Lost over 1:30 just from silly things. My brain was clearly not working at all - this is from not getting a good night's sleep.
Fun area but which I could've pulled together a better race to finish the weekend on.

Monash Clayton
Probably my best run of the weekend.
Wasn't running too fast because I had a lil bit too much brekky (it was super yummy) so I lost a few seconds from that.
Navigation was fine in most places, a few part where I was indecisive but I think I picked good routes to almost all the controls. Going #3 - #7, I was a step behind myself so lost around 20s there.
Really nice campus and map and course was fun.

Caulfield Grammar
Lost a lot of time from stupid mistakes - missing a gap on #2 (30s) and going to the wrong side of the fence on #5 (1min) - but after those was a bit better. A few other little things cost me a few seconds in places which should've been avoided had I been reading the map a bit better. The complexity got me a bit.
Brain wasn't super sharp, causing me to miss these important things.
Really fun though!
