Achilles pretty sore but not affecting running speed, so running pretty well.
Happy with 1 and 2 - lost 30s on three not being able to find the (overprinted) gap in the fence - I was expecting an "offical" gate or something but it was literally a hole in the fence. I guess I could have been more confident about where it
must be, rather than getting confused. Found eventually.
4 fine, lost a bit of time but it was worth it to get to the right place and successfully avoid the underpass-trap. 2nd place on shows it was a good choice to go through the park.
Silly route on 7 though, although well implemented, should've stayed lower rather than coming to the top. Didn't like S route that I did to 8, but splits show it was ok. Didn't spend enough (ie, any) time planning this leg in advance because the control exit was straight down a hill that was too steep for mapreading. Must work on this in future, ie identify when this is going to happen and plan more in advance.
Again unsure of best routes to 10 and 11 but splits show that just picking one and doing it was a good strategy as usual.
13 - lost 30s coming in from the E rather than the easy way - classic example of where the simplest route is best! This was a bit annoying since I hoped I was getting better at taking the simplest choice.
Bit of time lost on 21, thought I could get through where I couldn't. Think I crossed a bit of uncrossable wall here as well, but since the length of the wall is well less than 1mm and I had no idea it was uncrossable (or even on the map!) at the time, I'm not going to lose any sleep over it.
Route to 25 not great since didn't notice there was an extra exit to the park, so went all the way round, 15s.
Then the unfair (?) control 27, basically there were some very questionable line thicknesses (ie too thin to be a thick 'uncrossable' line, but too thin to be a pavement edge or something, and the control was on a wall corner that was barely a corner on the map, so made it hard to tell which side it was (actually one of the sides was impossible to approach from, but the line thicknesses hid this fact well).
However, would still have made a mistake here if it wasn't for all that since it was a hard route-choice control. Correct route is probably N at the start. Lost 45s dithering before decided on best route down to other level.
Distracted by a tractor to 29 and not that quick on the last few, but no other mistakes.
Total loss about 2 mins and 2:02 down - but I guess the winner lost some time too. Good to be only 1:30 down on Duncan, and just generally to be near the top in what turned out to be quite a high class field (unusually for an urban).
Feel a bit sorry for Mateusz Podsiadl who was miles ahead until #27 and then lost 5 mins on it - hope it was due to being on the wrong level rather than the lines being dodgy.
