Trail Run 1:09:58 [3]

Out and back along the South West Coast path from Slapton Sands (scene of the disastrous D-Day rehersal where over 700 soliders died) with Emma and Alice in just short of 70 minutes on a very hot and sunny Sunday morning. A couple of sharp climbs and some great coastal views.

Note

More sporty activities, including some tennis and football.

Trail Race race 25:38 [4] 5.0 km (5:08 / km)

Return to Parke parkrun #218 in 25:38. Interesting course on tracks and trails through the woods with a couple of very sharp climbs. Hard and uneven underfoot in the very dry conditions. A good Saturday morning workout followed by an excellent breakfast baguette. Thomas (3rd) and Emma (22nd) ahead, Alice (58th) behind.

Trail Run 20:00 [1]

Proper warm down after the race with Alice.

Note

Various sporty activities, including some swimming, beach cricket and non-beach cricket!

Road Run 50:00 [3]
(sick)

Steep climb up the hill from Bath to Bath University in 17:17, then round the campus on a gloriously sunny evening. Cold finally starting to wane, hopefully I can remove the "ill" flag soon.

To Bath (where it's very sunny).

Interval Session intervals 54:00 [5]
(sick)

Bored with being ill, so went to the Garscube interval session at the track anyway. Warm up, 4 x 800 m in 3:23, 3:25, 3:25, 3:25, two slow laps of track, 5 x 200 m in between 48 and 50, warm down (including some stretching). Session 54 mins. Surprisingly, I didn't feel too bad.

Note
(sick)

... local quack says local strain of flu is taking most people four weeks to get over, so still two weeks of coughing to go, then!

Note
(sick)

Not really tired despite all the travel and lack of sleep, confirming what I already knew, namely that I wasn't really pushing physically yesterday. Still ill after two weeks, so time to visit the local quack ...
