Road Race race 46:43 [5] 10.0 km (4:40 / km)

Cumbernauld 10 K in 46:43. Pushed harder than felt comfortable at the start trying to stay with the 45 minute pacer (who very slowly pulled away) and went through 5 K in a respectable 22:09 but then struggled (especially on the modest hills) on the second half (second 5 K in 24:35) and had to work hard to finish in 46:43, just over a minute quicker than I did on the flatter course in Stirling last week, and almost exactly the same splits as I ran in 2013. Tweaked my right hip at 6 K, which stiffened up afterwards.

Road Run 8:00 [1]

Very gentle warm up.

Road Race race 24:18 [5] 5.0 km (4:52 / km)

Ruchill parkrun #23 in 24:18. Tried harder than I really should have done for a Ruchill PB by 11 seconds after getting slower on my two most recent visits to Ruchill.

Road Run 15:00 [1]

Gentle warm up and down.

Terrain Run 1:02:43 [4]

CLYDE Terrain Run, 356 Trig clockwise with Dave, Iain, Mirjam and Alice, starting in sunshine and finishing basically in the dark. Surprisingly wet underfoot. We will need our head torches next week!

Road Run 45:12 [3]

Steady road run from home to Milngavie and back via Hillfoot and Bearsden.

Note
(rest day)

Supporting at Garscube Junior Track Champs in the (heavy) rain - very muddy for both runners and spectators alike!

Cycling 1:07:33 [4]

Brisk cycle from home to Milngavie to Baldernock to Mugdock through the Khyber pass back to Milngavie and then home in the fading light. A good low impact workout.
