Road Race race 47:04 [5] 10.0 km (4:42 / km)

First ever Shettleston 10 K at Glasgow Green in 47:04. Nice course mostly close to the river with long straights on a pleasant (but thankfully not too hot) Sunday morning. Steady 45 min place at the start, but dropped time towards the end without really feeling that I was losing ground or slowing down. First outing for new running shoes (bought after taping my old ones together for the parkrun yesterday).

Road Race race 26:18 [3] 5.0 km (5:16 / km)

Victoria parkrun #180. Jogged round the parkrun just ahead of Alice trying hard not to try hard on a gloriously sunny morning requiring both a sun hat and sun cream. Successfully taped my ripped right shoe together. Time for a new pair, I think!
12 PM

Hill Walk 1:37:23 [3]

Conic Hill with the Rachel, Kath and the girls. Overcast, but still pretty good views from the top, and we only got rained on for the last minute or so as we got back to the car - result!

Cycling 1:11:42 [4] 20.0 km (3:35 / km)

Cycling from Trossachs Pier to Stronachlachar with Emma and Alice on a gloriously warm and sunny Friday afternoon. Approximately 20 km in 71:42 with a bit of up and down. Had to push for the last 20 minutes to be sure to catch the ferry back (which was, thankfully, slightly late).

Urban Orienteering race 44:33 [4] 5.3 km (8:24 / km)

CLYDE/STAG Thursday Evening Event, West End/Glasgow University, Long Course (5.3 km) in 44:33. Interesting tour of an incredibly busy Kelvingrove Park (I've never seen so many people sitting on the grass!) and Glasgow University. Unfortunately, no-one told us that control 10 had been moved because the original site had been fenced off but - bizarrely - when I finally found a way in round the (unmarked) fences we found an old control with a pin punch in exactly the right place! Slightly misplaced controls at 13 and 16 randomised things a bit more, but didn't spoil a pleasant workout on a very warm and sunny evening.

Note
(rest day)

Right knee still not 100%.

Road Run 29:53 [3]

Steady round the Garscube estate during junior training. Right knee still a bit sore.

Note
(rest day)

Rest day with a slightly sore right year after the end of the first half of the orienteering year.

The JK and SOL 4 were high points, the British was a low point, but generally I was pleased with my navigation in the daylight (but not in the dark at the Scottish or British Night Champs) but less pleased with my speed through the terrain. Disappointed for T and E that all the hard work which earned them 4th and 3rd=, respectively, in the UK O League wasn't rewarded by the GBR selectors.
