Orienteering race 1:23:32 [5] 8.8 km (9:30 / km) +180m 8:37 / km

Moray Mix, MOR SOL 7, Cublin, Short Brown (8.8 km, 180 m) in 83:32 with approximately 3:25 of mistakes. Good run on a technical but physically demanding area with only one significant error (2:00) at number 7 (where even the planner admitted he struggled to read the map the first time he went there) and a few minor wobbles. Reasonable route on the 2.5 km long leg (21:36) too. Pleased with my run but - as usual - lost the overall M50 SOL title to a better orienteer getting his 4th score at the last race of the season!

Orienteering 33:30 [3] 3.5 km (9:34 / km)

Moray Mix, MOR Middle Distance Race, Culbin, Green (3.5 km) in 33:30. Couldn't make sense of the map at number 1 and lost 90 seconds thrashing around and almost getting caught by Rachel. Then steady on a glorious area trying hard not to try too hard with tomorrow's SOL in mind. Pleased (but slightly surprised and slightly embarrassed) to win (1/85!) despite not trying (but, after all, it was only the Green course).
