Good run anticlockwise round the 356 Trig loop in bluster but mainly sunny conditions. Very, very wet underfoot. Bracken out in force for the first time this year. The track under the pylons has been chewed up into a muddy scar during the last month - I fear this may be the harbinger of a permanent vehicle track to come. Felt quicker than the time of 59:29 suggests.
Steady effort round Victoria parkrun #82 in 23.04. Overtaken by streams of people on the first two laps but kept going (slowly) to the end. Almost late after watching Thomas take GB from 14th to 10th in the EYOC relay online, then had to do a very quick change afterwards before Rachel arrived to pick me up for Guide Camp duties!
Road Run5 [2]
Token warm up before the parkrun to try to get some of last night's race out of my legs.
Calderglen Harriers 5 K Trail race, Calderglen Country Park. Changed down from the 10 K to the 5 K on the night. A proper trail race (with narrow paths, plenty of climb, and hardly any hard ground to run on). Lost a few places on the first lap (with Emma disappearing out of sight ahead) but held steady on the remaining 1.5 laps. Definitely worth a return visit in a future year. Official time 24:32.
Slow plod round the CLYDE terrain run with Dave, Lindsay and Ceri anti-clockwise around Jaw Reservoir on a mild but wet evening. Felt pretty tired and lacking in energy - a 10 K trail race tomorrow seems like a big ask!
Out along the "boardwalk" along the beach front in Biarritz in the early evening sunshine in 19:16 getting overtaken by another conference delegate, then back in 18:45 chasing him down and catching him as he slowed down. Total run 38:01, definitely a bit faster than I would have done without a "rabbit" to chase!
