Terrain Run 58:13 [3]

Back to Palacerigg (venue of the score event last Sunday) to try to find Rachel's lost SI dibber - which we did within a few minutes of starting the search the area of small trees where she thought she'd dropped it - hooray! Steady run with Rachel, mostly on the tracks with some time checking out the dodgy pit in the windblow (number 51) where I'd lost time last week. Legs quite stiff from yesterday (but in a good way, not in an injured way).

Hill Race race 1:02:06 [5] 11.0 km (5:39 / km) +360m 4:51 / km

Leg 3 of the Devil's Burdens Relay (Kinnesswood to Maspie Den, 11.0 km, 360 m) with Thomas. Chilly with icy puddles and frozen tracks, but clear blue sky and sunshine made for good running conditions. The legs have all been re-routed since the last time I did this race, and all the climb was at the start with the rest mostly gradually downhill on tracks. Significantly slower than Thomas (who seemed to have recovered from feeling under the weather yesterday) with heavy legs in places, but kept going okay to the end. Official time 62:06, 56th out of 123 on leg. Team 3:32:14, 45th out of 123 teams - a pretty respectable result with four juniors (including two girls) and two older men!

Early flight down and late flight back from London, so no chance to exercise today. First visit to an airline lounge for a long time - disappointed how little of the free food and drink I managed to consume before feeling full!

Strength and Conditioning intervals 1:00:00 [5]

Garscube Strength and Conditioning. 3 x circuit plus warm up and down. 45 seconds (up from 40 seconds last week) for each station and then 10 seconds to move to the next station. 60 minutes total. Felt a bit tougher than last week, especially on my laughably weak arms!

Interval Session intervals 36:43 [5]

Garscube interval session. Still slushy and icy underfoot, and so session moved to Garscube Estate where the roads were mostly clear. 8 x 800 m with 90 seconds rest in 3:20, 3:23, 3:24, 3:26, 3:5, 3:26, 3:29 and 3:36. Steady effort until I lost it on the last one. Session 36:43.

Exercise Bike 32:00 [4] 14.9 km (2:09 / km)

Cold and icy outside, so 8 x (2 minutes easy + 2 minutes hard) on the exercise bike = 32 minutes, 702 calories while watching Monty Python on the DVD player.
