Cycle Gorebridge to Stow mostly along the A7 pushing pretty hard all the way on a sunny Sunday lunchtime. 15.1 miles, 24.3 km with 134 m climb and 215 m descent according to Google Maps. 64 minutes with one brief stop and several sets of traffic lights for the road works associated with the new Edinburgh to Tweedbank Borders Railway currently under construction.
Springburn parkrun #11. First visit to the new Springburn parkrun, in a nice park which rather belies it surroundings and feels like a combination of Tollcross (steeper) and Victoria (smaller and flatter). Alternative three-lap course (probably slightly longer than 5 km) due to preparations for the Queen's Baton Relay tomorrow. (I had to detour round the Queen's Baton Relay in Bearsden on my way to the parkrun.) Official result 21/68 in 23:18.
CLYDE Terrain Run: 356 Trig Point clockwise on a gloriously sunny evening. Near the back of a brisk run with Dave, Mirjam, Ty, Simon, Arnis, Robert and Alan. Mirjam briefly lost a shoe in a bog at the top of the hill.
18 x 200 m with 200 m recovery in between at Maryhill Track with Garscube Harriers in a good steady pace of between 45 and 48 seconds (so only more than twice the world record, then!) each. Total session 38:12.
