Orienteering race 53:10 [5] 6.8 km (7:49 / km)

Blue Course (6.8 km, 175 m climb) at INT SOSOL 6 at Deans and Dechmont Law, Livingstone. Decent run on a drizzly day despite not having a compass. Lost some time in a few circles due to lack of compass and at number 17 due to iffy mapping and/or control placement, but nice to be out running relatively quickly in terrain again. Legs didn't fell to bad after the race yesterday either. I'm looking forward to SOL 1 at Devilla next week already!

Road Race race 47:03 [5] 10.0 km (4:42 / km)

Springburn Harriers Jack Crawford Springburn Cup 10K, Bishopbriggs. A new start time (11 am) and a new course (more road at the start and then out and back along the far side of the canal before finishing on the canal just opposite the sports centre) due to the underfoot conditions. Steady start (24:29 to the turn at approximately 5.5 km) but then something of a slow plod back along the canal into a surprisingly strong headwind for a rather disappointing unofficial time of 46:56 (3:24 slower than my last 10 K in New Jersey last November). Lacking the zip on the trail race a couple of weeks ago, but pleased that my knee was fine. Official result 95/196 in 47:03. Quite tired afterwards, so quite glad I've only entered the Blue course at the SOSOL tomorrow.

Terrain Run 55:00 [4]

CLYDE Terrain Run. 357 Trig clockwise on a mild but wet evening: very wet underfoot with light rain lower down turning into mist higher up. Steady effort all the way round. Knee felt surprisingly good.

Exercise Bike 40:00 [3] 16.0 km (2:30 / km)

Knee still a bit sore, so did 40 mins on the exercise bike instead of running (16.0 km, 770 calories).

Tuesday Mar 4, 2014 #

Exercise Bike 1:00:00 [4] 26.0 km (2:18 / km)

Knee still sore, so missed intervals and did 60 mins steady effort on the exercise bike instead (26.0 km, 1,293 calories).
