a few short fast trips, shopping and to civic. Then bus to woden and a walk jog to aun't and uncle's for lunch and scrabble.

17:50 = New PB from car to top with Fred (via Pixie pump house track).

Up blackie with Fred. We ran the first part til it got steep, a surprise because Fred never runs.
A terrible windy day and neither of us were feeling athletic, me because I hadn't yet eaten today and Fred because he'd just eaten. We both felt so so good by the end of it, always happens. Hardly on the hill today, just not the weather for it. Looking forward to seeing snow on the mountains after this weekend.

This had all the important things - a run (good work) with best run partner Imo (it's been so long since we even saw each other), in the early morning (well that was a shock, good work getting out of bed) a very happy dog, and a chilly wintry Canbrrrrr morning on bush tracks on the Ridge called Bruce ( I really wish it had a nicer name). Walked for about 8 mins to warm up then we started running which felt hard at first because I'm still feeling tuesday in my legs. Soon running felt good and flowing, especially when distracted by catching up on all each other's theatre projects. No injuries or niggles to speak of. Perhaps my lower back had a slight tired ache to begin with but pretty sure it went away. No referred pain, sciatica, chronic pain syndromes. Just SO happy about that.
Also I feel my head doldrums are cleared after a too busy and emotionally demanding month. Good to have the Fred back from the coast for tea drinking too.

Getting out and doing a good hard session really worked. I've been walking up blackie with Fred a lot in past month or 2, few walks with Crumn, some serious gardening by hand as usual. Haven't lost that much fitness but need to build up running again now that back is behaving well enough.

a back care session of yoga and abs. Good to do before a rehearsal of Hey Sarah which I am loving so much. What a good opportunity to play emotional truths of real characters, enjoying the subtlety and possibilities.

3 times up black mtn, first slow, second a minute faster and third was done as hard intervals with 4 rests. Up via pixie house route running the flat part at the start. Running is feeling fine again, after many weeks of just walking up blackie and cycle commuting and not much else. Very pleased that I could do 3 reps without any snacks, just water. Felt reset afterwards

Felt really good after the lunch session, like a bike that's had a good tune up. Delicious riding in the super clear air although very cold. To Lightbulb and back and in a better frame of mind that usual
