Running 27:00 [3]

down to haig pk and back. Too hot but I needed a sleep in. Applied the FSFartlek technique all the way. A woman on the ovals let her dogs run after me and act a little aggressive. I'm not scared of dogs but these two big ones rattled me a bit. I stopped running and turned my back to them until she managed to get them on leads, which took a bit too long. One of them wouldn't respond to her commands for ages. "They did gang up on you" she said, but not a syllable of Sorry. Not impressed with the lack of apology!

To lightbulb training day. Started at 10am and finished with dinner at an Indian restaurant.

Strength Stability Suppleness 1:00:00 [1]

Ira's warm ups plus more, lots of leg work and running and fun stuff. Indoor sprinting is fun and I'm not too bad at it in spite of being the oldest.

Running (You've Got Options) 1:05:00 [3]
shoes: old blue trailrocs

Ridiculously hot evening to be out, even with starting an hour later. I set off with ice cubes under my hat and even then the pace was too hot for the overheated me. Mainly the ice felt lumpy and uncomfortable and I couldn't feel the cooling effect although it must have worked a bit. I am most emphatically not good in the heat. Yet still tempted by company on a run, and dinner afterwards. Flan and MissE were there so prawn crackers and icecreams were back on menu. And then I was talked into a whole glass of raspberry beer. Pissed.

Paddle and Portage 50:00 [1]

Lake BG with 2 kayaks, 2 mini sailing boats and Ric. Glorious sunset and warm air. Hardly anybody out there. A eucalyptus tree in flower attended to by large circling bats entertained us afterwards. Lovely!

Walking 1:06:00 [2]

Streets, ridge, tea and cake at B&C's. After a long warm up I finally felt like a bit of running. Have been getting stiff and tight in the yoga break and back has been reverting to its old ways in particular. But once I started running in the cool and darkness felt great and fast.

Evening stretch of the legs. There were about 7 people sitting in a row on the path that borders the Lyneham lake. They were all balancing a plate of pasta on laps, holding a glass of wine, and facing the view of the lake and looking very cheery. They apologised for taking up the path as I walked past which was ridiculous because they were the best thing I've seen on a local run for ages. Maybe they were from the same share house.

After warming up I did 6 short lake hills to stretch the legs (about 16 seconds), later did some accelerations across the oval. Felt brighter afterwards, walked home.
