Walking 30:00 [2]
shoes: Pink Merrel Roadgloves

Great New Years Eve party at Imo's where a large contingent walked up to a viewing spot on majura to watch the fireworks. People were surprised when Geoff (our host) took us off track over rocky ground up a steep hill and through many orb weaver's homes. There were people in thongs and a child in no shoes at all (but she was fine). We made our viewing spot in time to see a tiny colourful burst of activity in the distance. The moon and city lights were more spectacular to be honest.

Lovely group of people, delicious bbq, salads and desserts, many entertaining spider stories and the funniest runner's poo story I've ever heard. Then we danced under fairy lights on the circle of grass between the netted fruit trees and they laughed at themselves because we are too old to dance. I didn't laugh - I tried out my disco Poke-the-clouds move and inspired an audible wow from everyone. Makes me think I should work on all the moves from the youtube vid and keep them in my repertoire.

Running (parkrun) 29:45 [3] 5.0 km (5:57 / km)
shoes: old blue trailrocs

LBG parkrun with Brad. On time. Still feeling tired from the Mt Tennent run, a combination of the climb and missing sleep. Decided to start at the back and run very easy. Was feeling heavy legged and sore by the end so barely managed to surge up the finish hill. Am really enjoying getting a routine going with Brad and it's kind of nice to run with an Impro friend. I have quite defined Friend Categories and they mostly don't cross, nice when they do. Perhaps I should have more parties. Nah, hate having parties.
Brad was so dopey afterwards that he left his phone in my glovebox. Makes a change from gloves anyway. Dropped it off later on way to have a walk with Susan and baby Claire who is cuteness overload kid at 5 months. We walked so slowly that even I am not going to trog it... although I'm sure it was good for the running legs to stroll the Aranda hills (=recovery)? Then I rolled around on the floor with the baby (=pilates core strength) and danced my recent theatre routine for baby (=HIIT) which she found fascinating. Looks like I can finish the xmas chocolate after all that

Running (Mt Tennent) 1:19:49 [3]
shoes: helios - black

Mt Tennent with Flan, got to fulfill my birthday run wish some days late and a bit early for a NYE run because Flan won't be available for that.
Got up before I went to bed... hehe actually woke up naturally at 2.50am before alarm at 3.10, 2 cups of tea, driving at 3.45, running up the mountain in pitch dark soon after 4.30am. No moon but plenty of stars. Felt all the awe, wonder and giggling excitement that I always do at the start of this dawn run. Chatted heaps, gradually regretted eating oats and milk just before the start because I forgot in the car. Got to top for a Pretty Good Dawn - there was a band of cloud on the horizon so missed that magic moment. I hoped to break 1.20 so happy enough. So good to run with no sun.

Mostly walked down as we were both feeling lazy. Then had an exhausting morning playing with the 4 year old with a great cooked breakfast in there

Easy pootle on blackie in anticipation of a big mt T tomorrow. Walked up the creek to left of paved path for a bit looking for wild life, too hot and too midday to see anything. Then jogged a lap of circum with some drills, walk/jogged down. Altho a bit hot there were a number of groups of holiday peoples walking the main path.
