3 x Tardis Red Hills with flan at dawn 5.55, 6.00, 5.52. There was a 4th hill as warm up, much slower. Feeling a bit floppy this morning but had a late night with Luke's birthday party (so lovely!) then got up at 5:25am so am a bit tired.

Breakfast of scrambled eggs at flan's then Coffee at knox later with flan bhole gramps kate and liz, Eric and Erica. Really nice to see everyone and caught up with Mikelangelo too.

Warm up, downhills and cool down run along a gently uphill ST that starts from same gate. Did a few drills along here too.

Got up at 5:15 to go paddling on lake BG with Ric. Feeling better this morning, and after such brilliant start to the day, feeling happy as well. Museum, under comm bridge to Carillion with the sun rising behind it. A clear sky so not a spectacular sunrise. The real joy is to watch the city waking up from on the water. Gradually lake edges fill with joggers, boot camps and the occasional personal trainer with client. Rowing boats and dragon boats joined us on the water. There was only one hot air balloon doing a tethered flight due to weather being too breezy, not that we could feel it, wonderfully calm on the lake. Home in time to teach flan.

Even though it was 35C I was pretty desperate to have a run. Started at top of blackie, one lap of circum and return. Ran alone because it was a particularly fast group tonight including last weekend's winner of the Tarrawera 87k race in NZ - not that he was fast because still recovering but it gives an idea of the bunch of fit males that I sort-of-run with. Dave (my slow buddy) wasn't present.
Great to have a run after a whole month of almost continuous headcold. At dinner I kept up very well with the hot and sour soup and rice paper rolls.

Did some gardening and physical jobs last 2 mornings which, this morning, has not left me exhausted. Still plenty of ... mucus ... oh I hate that word, but I must be close to being able to run again. Good thing too because the rogaine is on tomorrow. Imo had cancelled yesterday but today a change in her work means it's on again.
