Running 35:00 [3]
Didn't get quite enough sleep then had to get up at stupid oclock to make food for bbq so was a bit sleepy. The general lunacy of Faye, Bec, Susan and Felix in the car with me woke me up. Were joined by Shane and 3 yo Finn in a backpack at honeysuckle carpark. Walked on a sometimes wet muddy trail to Booroomba carpark stopping for bird and fungus sightings. Some of us went up to Booroomba cliffs and I've never seen it so busy; worse than Tennent on a sunny sunday morning.
Was just going to be a gentle social hike but was able to power up Booroomba on my own for a good hill effort then enjoyed the short run on the flat to the cliffs. At the end of the hike Bec and I accidentally started running, drew away from the others and couldn't resist running all the way back to BBQ. Since the honeysuckle track is the most beautiful bit of run track in the whole of Namadgi this made me very happy. Wish I could run like that on a beautiful trail for 2 hours at a time. Dream of honeysuckle to tennent is still alive.
Achilles not *so* happy - would have been better to have a very easy day. It will recover. Weather was perfectly warm and sunny (21C). We met a few others and had a most enjoyable bbq lunch at the campground. F, B and S tried to pick up the ranger, but were thwarted. They are crazy. I was impressed by his ability to turn on the bbq hotplate that acts broken for everyone else. He is the BBQ Whisperer.
Shane's portable, bike pump style coffee maker provided hours of entertainment and millilitres of coffee... just not that many mls.
