Running 50:00 [2]
weight:62kg

From home, Ocnr shops, moorhouse, CCT, up to LBM, clockwise around, then a detour through terrain looking for a shortcut back to suburbs that of course didn't exist (there was a small pipe under the road but not big enough even to crawl through). Ended up on top of "little black hill" which had the best log shelter I've seen in the nature parks. I don't think I've ever been in this corner of blackie reserve before.

Back to CCT then bike track towards home stopping at shops for supplies. Very tired and heavy legged and felt a bit uncordinated too. Should have done something much shorter but didn't figure it out until I was far from home. Lots of walking breaks recorded below. Weather was cold, dim, windy and becoming rainy.

Cycling 35:00 [2]

To choku for fruit and veg and home again with half and back to choku for the rest then home again with second load. Seemed easier than fitting it all on my bicycle. Was very excited to see a bustle of activity, dirt, picks and shovels at the site of Lyneham FoodForest. Asked if I could join in.

Strength Stability Suppleness 2:00:00 [1]

Taking tools to FoodForest, digging, shoveling and pushing wheelbarrows for many happy hours with a wonderful collection of dirt-fans gathered there. Only met one other very local person, others were from a few suburbs away or even way down South. Met John Carr (organiser and Very Fast Digger), Chenni from white flats, Cam the surveying expert, and a bearded hipster who drank his water from a jam jar (so that really is a thing?). By hand we dug 3 long swales, piled up adjacent berms and mulched the lot, had lunch, took photos and made new friends. It was the most surprising and wonderful day and I couldn't stop smiling.

Went home with Chenni to advise her on digging up her potatoes, made plans with John to have tea at Sly Fox. The next one is Sat Aug8 from 10am to 3pm; cheap gym session! https://lynehamcommons.wordpress.com/
Training time logged suddenly respectable again - it was hard work.

Running (You've Got Options) 1:00:00 [3]

Fantastic run, all the more enjoyable after a week of none. Dark and damp with mist thickening as we climbed. What a delight to be running on a winter's night.

Left home a little late and saw the others leaving OConnor just out of shouting distance. Tried to catch them up, gave up and went my own pace. To Blackie via bit of CCT, up blackie and met the others not far above circum. Back down to circum where I had a delightful chatty lap with Rick no. 1, admiring city lights in the mist and feeling lucky to live near trails like this. Pootled down with Rick again politely staying back with the slowest person which is me. Dave might be slower but he turned back early due to dying headlamp. Also there was Simon, his friend from OS, Adam wearing my grey top at dinner.

Adam and I got a softies lift home with Rick. Adam whipped off his front wheel, leaned it against the car, then put the bike in the car, immediately forgetting to place the front wheel inside also. I had to say "And the wheel!" twice before he realised what I was talking about. This made me very happy as it's the kind of brain-fade I have way too often.

Time is a guess, forgot to start watch. It's so good to be healthy again, always.

Walking 23:00 [1]

Recovering, brisker pace. Being careful as I want to get healthy before the BushCapMara 16k.
In good news, my left Jumpers Knee (patellar tendinosis) seems to have got itself completely better. It's great when time heals wounds. The rather sparse training of late has had a great side benefit, yay!
In less good news, having a virus has increased my clumsiness so that in the past week I've had 2 falls (one run, one bike), one smashing of chin by shed door and one nasty steam burn from the new kettle that kept me awake half the night. So that's why I thought I'd better take it very easy and not run until perfectly alert and springy.

Imogen has continued to do excellent training and is super excited about the 16k and I bet will have her best race to date. I will enjoy success vicariously as her adviser and encourager :)

Recovering. Outdoors is a good place to recover.
