Running long (You've Got Options) 1:20:00 [2] 11.0 km (7:16 / km)
A most enjoyable run last night, taking out the headtorch for the first time this winter season. The drizzly weather convinced me that company would be more fun so I headed to oconnor shops to find... nobody. Waited for long enough that I would be late to top of blackie. Still no-one so I started up the hill. And that's when ric saw me; he parked, changed and started chasing. It took until about 1/3 up the concrete path to top before I heard someone blowing like a train behind me, which is more a reflection on ric's slow preparation than running. Great to have company from there as we climbed into the darkness and fog.
We collected owen at the top and enjoyed stories of struggle and triumph from Canb mara from both of them. Down to Circum to do an anticlockwise lap. The fog got thicker and owen's light turned out to be inadequate (a present from an auntcle) so I slowed down to shed light on the subject. Being slapped by wet shrubs, splattering the mud up legs, the poor dark foggy visibility and the company made this a most enjoyable run. There was a bizarre plume of fog lying over the city, lit up gold by city lights and the tower in the fog was the spookiest I've seen for a while.
Ran down with ric trying to save my jumpers' knee while owen drove down (saving his marathon legs) to the carpark shower and change (which I fail at!) and dinner at tudo where food and company made a perfect end to the run.
Focusing on breathing at the moment; trying for 8 steps for each breath cycle. It creeps up to 7 and little bits of 6 when steep but I can hold 8 for quite a while #heartratealternatives
