Aus sprint champs
Solid enough the first time through the school and survived the middle distance section through the bush with no real errors (not a huge fan of having such a big section of green forest in a sprint but it was still a cool area). Then pretty messy through the last part in the school, lost about 20s on poor route choices and lots of hesitations too which dropped me down to 3rd.

Cape to Cape trail from Cape Naturaliste Lighthouse to Yallingup
Found out about this run from that red bull guy who did the 'best' trail run in each state in 7 days. Some of his choices were a little questionable but I'm not going to argue with him on this one because it was incredible. The first 8k were just stunning- beautiful water and beaches, awesome rock formations, really enjoyable and varied trail- had a massive grin on my face the whole way. The last third was a bit less enjoyable (a bit tougher going in the sand and views weren't quite as spectacular) but even with that I still rate it as one of the best runs I've done. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YOUadIs04DQ

Easter Long Distance
Tough day at the office, pretty weak performance physically so disappointing. Henry caught 4min on me a lot sooner than I would've expected and I tried to sit in for a coupe of ks but it just wasn't happening. A few small mistakes scattered throughout but mainly just not feeling strong, then with about a third to go I knew it really wasn't to be so pretty much just jogged the rest. Not a nice feeling giving in like that but looking back now it probably was sensible.

I think I was so far off the pace due to a mix of losing a bit of long-distance shape over the last month, inexperience at big-boy longs and not having my training focused on long distance this year. I guess some learning generated and I'm very fired up for the rest of the week now so not the end of the world.

Easter Sprint
One of those runs that didn't feel amazing but was solid enough, especially on such a techy course. A few hesitations and maybe a couple of small route choice things but I think everyone had things like that today. Fair play to Henry, couldn't have made up that gap but happy to end up with second from a decent run.
