4peaks Day 2: Mt Feathertop
Learnt my lesson from yesterday and slotted into a group that were going at a comfortable pace for the first 2/3rds. The leader of my group started to ease up a bit as we got to the steeper section (around 8ks) so I pushed ahead from them. Still had enough in the legs to work well through the final climb which was just awesome, really cool trail up the ridge to the summit and amazing views. Still nothing spectacular results wise but I've got to remember that I've got almost no experience doing this kind of racing. Absolutely loved this run though so very keen to come back and do the full four days sometime soon.

4peaks Day 1: Mt Buffalo
Got caught up in racing at the start so made a rookie error and set off way too hard. Was feeling cooked and breathing pretty heavily at the top of the first steep climb (chest was real tight from having a bit of a cold still) and some bloke decided to tell me that "you've gone too hard, you should walk the next section" as he overtook me. He wasn't wrong about the going out too hard bit but still didn't rate some random guy trying to coach me mid race so tried to stick with him and cooked myself even more. Second half was pretty painful and I dropped off the pace a fair bit but good learning experience overall and still a really cool race to do.

A bit of a lighter one ahead of the races this weekend. Did it at the same park I went to a couple of weeks ago and the same nice old Indian man was sitting on his bench again. This time every time I ran past him he kept saying "ah yess, very very beautiful". I'm hoping he was talking about my form not my looks in general but hard to know
