Vic Long Champs- Evenmoore
Nice and clean through the technical-ish mining at the start. Think I made a good call on the long leg to 7, started off left of the line linking up a few trails, tried to avoid as much of the climb/green as I could in the middle then picked a nice line to enter reasonably straight.
Felt like I eased off a bit in the middle third but this probably left me with enough energy for the last few climbs so maybe not a bad thing. Had a very small miss on 19 where I just didn't see the flag and ended up doing a lap of the knoll but otherwise clean through the last section.
Bit of a surprise to be as far ahead as I was today but I guess it's a good sign that my shape hasn't dropped off too much since I got back home. Good fun to run on a new area too and I really liked the course other than a couple of simple transport legs here and there.
