Ocean swimming race (Anaconda AR - Forster) 43:09 [5] 2.0 km (21:35 / km)

Wasnt too motivated to race today. Had lost my goggle from the day before.
I had heaps of chaffing so decided to wear a rashy under the race bib and borrowed some goggles. Goggles filled up with water so i pulled them down, and the rashy was drowning me. At about 1/3 the swim comes into the beach and back out again, so i got rid of the rashy and goggles and continued. Eyes really stung but it wasnt too bad because you could see the boys easier.

Running race (Anaconda AR-Forster) 10:55 [5] 3.0 km (3:38 / km)
shoes: Salomon Speed Cross 2

Race starts with a 3k run from Forster main beach to one mile beach. It's a
pretty hilly 3k climbing for most of the way with a big drop on the beach down a massive sand dune.
Felt pretty good for this section, almost the only
time for the whole race.

Ocean swimming race (Anaconda AR-Forster) 59:07 [5] 3.0 km (19:42 / km)

2nd leg is a swim back to main beach, heading around the head land and swimming for about 2km, then a short run500m, and last 500m+ back to the beach.
As I ran down the dune onto the beach we (rob next to me) saw a nice
big set come rolling in.. First was I dived under my
goggles got pushed down. A readjustment and I was off. I really battled for the first 2/3rd and didn't get in a good rhythm. Finally I started to feel ok and get moving just before the short run. All I was thinking as racer after racer pasted me was 'how slow do these guys run 3k'.
9 AM

Ocean Kayak race (Anaconda AR - Forster) 1:36:31 [5] 14.7 km (6:34 / km)
shoes: XLR8 Odyssey

After falling off my ski straight away, i got going and paddled ok. Was pretty tired from the swim but kept a good pace and this year didnt got swimming. I passed lots of people that had fallen in which bought back bad memories. Coming into the beach i caught a wave but swung right just before it closed out. Then was caught in no mans land but a little wave popped up which quickly took me to the shore before the waves came rolling in. Apparently i was pretty lucky with most others getting smashed.
10 AM

MTB race (Anaconda AR - Forster) 1:25:12 [5] 19.6 km (4:21 / km) +311m 4:02 / km
shoes: Merida Ninety Six

Ride was wet and muddy. Was riding ok, but cracked pretty bad when it came to the hills. Not a good ride.
12 PM

Running race (Anaconda AR - Forster) 1:10:44 [5] 10.7 km (6:37 / km) +183m 6:05 / km
shoes: Salomon Speed Cross 2

Running pretty slowly by now. About half way there is a board paddle across the lake. This really sucked, uncomfortable and really stuffed. Struggled to the finish.
