Epic fail of a ride. 50k of shitty corrugated sandy fire roads.
Was going to do Anderson's and Oaks down to Glenbrook.

Rode all the way down to the start of Anderson's trail off tableland rd to find the track was closed for hazard reduction. So rode back up and spoke to a couple of other guys riding down there. I headed back to the road off Ingers trail instead. Had a quick look at the fire website but could find where the burning was. Asked a guy who drove out of the road if he new if it was open and he said yes, but I didn't really think he knew what I was asking. So took the risk of riding down and again the trail was closed with danger taping and a sign on the bloody gate almost at the bottom! So pissed off. Contemplated just going through as there was no sign of any back burning happening, and could hear two MTBers riding down below (i assume it was the guys I stopped to talk too earlier , they must have ignored the signs).
Decided best just to turn back and make the long uphill slog back to Wentworth falls. Why they couldn't have put up a couple of signs up near the turn offs instead of at the bottom!

6 Hr Rogaine with Fatrat.

Bit of training for Geoquest. Had about 5 minutes to plan our route which was just a quick sketch on the map. Changed our route a few time and at 3 hrs in only then decided to cross the Tarlo river and pick up the 2 200 point CPs. Had to move quickly and almost straight line it to make it back to the finish, coming in with 2 minutes to spare. Think we just got the win.
Nice steep terrain but not a lot of scrub.

Swimrun Australia.

Race from Rosebay, around to watsons bay, south head and return. Swimming 16 bays and beaches, running the trails and roads in-between.
Good fun. Bart looked like crap when we arrived having manflu all week. So we raced just to finish. Held up on the trails after the first swim but slowly passed heaps on teams on the run legs. Yoyoed with a number of team as they would pass us on the swims, only for us to pass them on the runs.
Felt pretty good swimming.

Cut up an old wetty and went to the lake for some swimrun training.
Funny looks from the people I passed. Pretty warm running and the water temp was nice. Need some practice with equipment. I would hand paddles on but only to be unable to adjust goggles. Came out of the water at one point with were a guy had two fishing rods set up (trying to catch some delicious carp), and another spot where I ended up in a stinking quagmire and had to climb over blackberry bushes to get out. Probably acquired a few more diseases today.
