North East Harrier League cross country at Gosforth Park. Not done an XC in years - probably because they are hard work! But DFR registered with england athletics for XC this year, so we can enter these races, and it was sort of fun in a painful way. They start a slow group first, then medium group 2.5 mins later, than fast group 2.5 mins after that. Newcomers like me start in slow group first race, and get 'promoted' if you do well. Settled in around 6th place, and ended up losing a few more (to slow pack runners, 2 mediums and 1 fast) to end in 14th place. Pleased with that. Maybe enough to do another one in a few weeks.
