I left the house finally! Nice cycle along the coast.

I figured Innocent Railway would be pretty grotty given the weather yesterday, might have even been flooded judging by the state of the Loch. Decided to try Dudingston Low Road (which was "shut"), joining up with the A1 -> A199 through Musselburgh and onto the coast road as standard. Probably nicer than the railway for cycling, but the traffic lights were a total pain in the arse.
Along the coast road, admired the huge pile of steel and rubble where the power station used to be, and continued all the way to Longniddry Bents car park 2 where I turned around and went back the way I came. Knee was feeling pretty stiff for the first 45 minutes or so, probably like a 19 on the Lexc arbitrary pain scale⁽ᴾᵃᵗᵉᶰᵗ ᴾᵉᶰᵈᶦᶰᵍ⁾

Met a woman in the car park who told me with complete sincerity all about Chemtrails and how They used them for geoengineering and population control. In which case, shout out to the Illuminati for making it be an absolutely glorious day for a cycle.

Note

I would have left the house for a cycle, but it was utterly vile outside, so I didn't.

Friday Dec 25, 2015 #

Note

No exercise bar a family walk around Cramond and up the River Almond.

Not sure ticking the rest day box is justified anymore, nor the injured box. Knee still a bit sore even just walking though.

Note
(injured) (rest day)

Knee is still a bit sore going up/down stairs, but would probably have been all good to cycle today. Sadly all useful daylight spent doing Christmas present shopping which couldn't be put off any longer.
Theoretically could have put some lights on and gone in the late afternoon, but that's a bit keen

Note
(injured) (rest day)

Knee still painful, walking to the cinema and back was enough for me today

Tuesday Dec 22, 2015 #

Note
(injured) (rest day)

Impromptu rest day, hurts to put pressure on left big toe and I can't bend my right knee without pain.

May end up cycling tomorrow, will see how it goes

Run 54:30 [2] 9.54 km (5:43 / km) +92m 5:27 / km

Went for an easy run up the Water of Leith, then back along the canal - that was the plan at least.

Took my crappy little head-torch which wasn't really bright enough - lots of stepping in puddles in the darker sections and also got into a fight with a tree branch in the chest (I lost).
Had just crossed Gorgie Road and there was a section of pavement with bollards along the side. Went around a big bin that was in the middle of the path, and tripped over the remnants of the bollard that got knocked over so the bin would fit there. Holes in my gloves, hands, and my right knee. The man who'd been following just behind for the previous km turned out not to be a serial killer as I had suspected but actually a top bloke who made sure I was alright.
Limped along the remaining 6km rather slowly and painfully, thankfully it was an nice enough night, especially once the wind was behind me.
Bumped into Mark on Dalry Road who gave me an expected amount of sympathy, and stopped for a quick chat. This turned out to be a mistake, because when I started jogging again what little adrenaline I'd had left had all worn off and it was a rather sore last 800m.

Cleaned off all the blood once home to find the worlds smallest graze atop a fairly respectable knee egg.
