Bergen Sprint Camp - Mass Start
3rd

Somehow managed to make it into the top 6 so got to race the mass start in the A final :) Racing against Galina, Sigrid, Kristine, Ingeborg and Anne.

Struggled to pick the runners choice map as I couldn't see routes to a couple of controls. Ended up picking the map that had the easiest controls to reach. Which ended up being the 2nd best option probably.

Started off just following the pack through the first few controls. Then took the flat, round route to 4 as I knew the area as our accommodation was there. Went from the back of the group to leading but I hadn't planned ahead the long leg back to 6 so hesitated and let Galina in front. Struggled massively to get up the steps and Galina and Sigrid put almost 20secs into me.
Leading the chase back through the spectator control then we all split to different runners choice controls. Really struggling up the hill back to the common control and had to walk a bit. The others all caught me here and just tried to hang on as best I could.

Managed to hold off Ingeborg to finish in 5th. Then later got told that 2 girls had run straight past #7, so got promoted to 3rd.

Bergen Sprint Camp - City Race
11th

Very tricky sprint around the tiny alleyways. Went super slowly through the first section as it was just so hard to plan and execute a route. Lots of steps and steep hills and tiny gaps between buildings.
Was actually going quite well for most of the course. In 5th place before the final climb back up to the finish, then absolutely crashed and lost 30sec in the final 4 controls to drop down to 11th. Course too long for my current fitness levels combined with yesterdays efforts meant I was crawling up the hill to the finish.

Sprintervals around the tiny alleyways from the first part of the city race. Really fun and much more suited to me as I can cope with 4-5min efforts rather than full courses.
Finished in 4th place overall for the 5 courses.

So excited to be orienteering and racing again! Race went pretty well...I chose the correct runners choice map (although it was pretty obvious) and was taking good routes for the rest of the course. A bit stop-start at the controls as I was struggling to plan ahead, partly as it was dark so quite hard to read the map.
