Ogang long run with Dad, Magnus, Greg and Sarah. Starting from Stratton Street, ran partway up Belmont then dropped down to Korokoro Dam, along to Baked Beans then all the way up to Belmont Trig. Was epic seeing all the damage from the storm last week, with bridges that have been destroyed and shifted downstream and debris everywhere. Stopped a fair bit, but who couldn't on such an awesome day. Clear blue skies and could see for miles in all directions and across to the South Island. Was pretty awesome :)
Magnus, Dad and Sarah dropped down Middle Ridge to the cars, while Greg and I continued round the Dress Circle and down Bulls Run back to home.

Parkrun - Lower Hutt

Thought I'd do this as a pre-Europe fitness test and to compare with the one I did pre-Europe last year (19.34mins). Aim was to take the first 2km cruisy in around 3.45-3.50mins/km then push harder on the way back, but felt really comfortable at the pace I was going. First km went out hard, then tried to cruise and stay relaxed for the next 2km and push home fast for the last 2km. Kept closing in on the guy in front of me, then he'd put in a burst and get away again (not helped by the fact his girlfriend yelled out to him "don't get chicked!").
Looked down at my watch close to the end and saw it was 17.20mins, so was like jeez better put in a good sprint for the line and go for pb. In the end, 3 seconds short....but super happy to even be close to the time I managed after 4 months of solid training in Europe last year :D

Standard Western hills loop. First 15mins with Dad, then he took a shortcut as his achilles were hurting. Was super dark/slippery in Jubilee Park and didn't have a headtorch, so was taking it very slowly. Rolled over on my ankle at one point, but managed to shake it off. Seems to be okay now, little bit sore.

HFW - railway bridge, Jubilee Park, Tirohanga.
Pushed fairly hard up Tirohanga, and was 30 seconds faster than normal. Left foot is feeling rather tight in the spot I injured in January, so need to make sure that it doesn't get any worse.

Up Sweetacres track, Lumpy Bumpy track to the airstrip, past the gas station and back down Hill Road.
Wasn't feeling very motivated last week (and feeling sick), but new week = new motivation :) Breathing was still really heavy, but feeling a lot better than Saturday. Amazing sunset all the way along the back of the Dress Circle. I'm gunna miss this view!!
