Note

Watching JK sprint...not how I wanted to spend my first JK. :'( This was very very tough, very nearly ended up running anyway. But deep inside I knew it was the right decision not to. Still was extremely tough to watch, especially on such a fun looking map. Nice to see Charlotte and Lizzie doing well, and hoping that if I'd been fit and running perhaps I could have been up there too.

Flight got cancelled yesterday due to the strikes in France so spent the morning exploring Copenhagen with Tim. Fairly sure we ended up walking almost the same route as I did 6 years ago, just in reverse!
Then a long flight and train from Manchester back to Edinburgh.

Walked/jogged round the course until 14, then walked back to the finish. Cool area, navigation was good apart from number 1 :P

Walked round some controls at Teviothead focusing on some compass techniques. Good practice for JK long. Still managed to mess up one control with Beth and Conor, even though I was walking!!

Orienteering 24:23 [2] 3.33 km (7:20 / km) +65m 6:40 / km

Ultrasprint at Selkirk Pits. Super cool area with loads of pits and depressions. Found it pretty easy but was only jogging around/walking when it went off the tracks. Foot not too bad, bit tight but mainly just being paranoid.

shoes: Asics Trabuco Pink

Mass start sprint with gaffled loops at Tweedbank. Still just jogging but a bit more speed this time. Fun running behind everyone and watching the mistakes. Cut out quite a bit at the end when it started just being long running legs where you had to go far off the line to avoid impassable fences.
