WUP, well buzzed first time ever actually racing on the home terrain.

Running race 15:26 [4] 4.66 km (3:19 / km) +92m 3:01 / km

Braids 5K - didn't want to race the 10 because I'm a wimp.

Nah, I've been racing a lot recently so wanted to have this as a good opportunity to take the foot off the gas but still take a good session from it - would have been pretty hard to not take the 10k at 100%!!

That said, this was still taken pretty quick - gun went off and suddenly there was about 10 guys bamming it off up the hill at full gas. Proper having to put the burners on to slowly reel them in, quite an interesting one as I haven't started an xc hard yet.

Finally started making inroads near the top of the hill, boys kept dropping off but there was a nice wee pack. Added bonus was I got to take the segment to the top of the hill pretty hard (nowhere near as hard as Kris though:o). My plan had been to chill till the top of the hill then to hit the downhill as hard as possible. Was a bit wet and slippy but bam instantly a big lead. That was very nice as a couple of the boys had been threatening and fighting.

Knew I had to try and stay just ahead of out of sight and just about managed it. A few pretty worried moments where I'd look behind and try judge how far it was, if I was gonna have to save some burners for the end but in the end held it together and not to bad at all :) good fun ey! Pretty fun race. Might try the 10k at some point if the stars ever align right haha.

Running 20:33 [4] 4.77 km (4:19 / km) +163m 3:41 / km

was going for 5x2mins with a jog back recovery but the start of the 10k ended my plans. Still, did pretty much that with a slight alteration. Good fun. Good day.

Post gym lap of the seat and onto the crags - light pollution helping me big time as it pure night but I was seeing things like the daytime. No headtorch crags is pretty fun. You get the extra adrenaline rush from will I won’t I do my ankle with the next step. Love it.

Easy seat (road) trying to work out which was was quickest. It was pretty windy. I think the outcome is that both are slow.

Pretty bloody windy.

Felt pretty terrible - not terrible but not good.

5x6mins but didn’t have a 4th or 5th in me.
Was feeling okay but then missed the start of the 4th by a second or two and then couldn’t relocate with the boys - checked my watch, slow, lost the mental battle and went home. To be fair hadn’t been feeling very good anyhow but yeah.

Had been feeling an illness coming on in the build up to Saturday but then ran okay. Woke Sunday with a sore throat but thought I’d be cool. Monday felt alright just grim in the nose and today was worse in the nose but okay. Don’t think I drank enough but also think I’m basically better - will run easy and reassess on Saturday for a session.

Running warm up/down 10:41 intensity: (10:34 @1) + (6 @2) + (1 @3) 1.71 km (6:15 / km) +38m 5:37 / km

Bonked on the way home so probably a shout to bail. Ended up feeling dizzy and walking... dehydrated?

Scranned a lot and am now feeling better about it all. Should be good from here.
