British middle champs - had good fun that’s all that matters - enjoyed the course, couple of mistakes with the classic peeler map and not understanding how depressions that you could hide me in standing up straight were not included on the map when depressions that I couldn’t hide in next door were. So 3mins of mistakes to #2 and then the fight went out and I just enjoyed it.

Good bit of head to head racing with Rich Rob after my second mistake. That was proper good, had some naughty routechoice battles and I hit some pretty good splits too. Died towards the finish though, not shifting to well at the end!

Achilles was tugging throughout the race, some sharp pain down there but it was due to borrowing Eddies shoes for the sprint final - Hokas with 0mm drop - messed me up!

Actually a really good race. Except for the multi level. Lost about 2:30 there haha nice one yas. Went down when it was up - control description said outside corner (nothing specified about the level) so ran there and damn, no control. Oops. Basically they said in the final deets that there would be no controls on the bottom level but heat of the moment I forgot that.

Ah well good bants fun course and would have been a sweet run if not for the two levels. My other mistake was being to keen to use the levels early on in the course - ran in then couldn’t read the map - too dark - ran the wrong way and all went wrong!! Nice. 2mins on the first and 30s on the wrong way.

Final wee run with Lyds, up to the top of the Bastille and back. Been a very cool week - can’t wait to come back and get some more of the hills!

Pretty sick run up above 2200m with Lyds, a lot of bouldering and some pretty savage inclines slowed our progress but a very very good day out. Some awesome views, the proper alps. Up at the Chamrousse ski centre - hosted the 1968 Winter Olympics so quite fun! Amazing weather.
