Over the Hill road leg, in a team with Alex B.

Last minute decision to convince Alex to do this. I've for sure felt better when running but it was a fun little outing. Got overtaken by a HBT guy before Pollock roundabout, didn't have it in me for a battle and he pulled away. Knee feeling okay and still intact, good times.

Carnethy 5

Don't like to turn down a good bit of racing and wanted to give it a go just in case I could somehow pull off an okay run, but as should've been expected, this was very much not the case and I suffered miserably.

Didn't start fast but it already felt quite tough and by the time I got on the path up Scald Law my breathing was ragged and chest quite sore. Not sure if this was because slightly ill or lack of exercise recently, most likely a bit of both. It was quite deja vu from last year but I felt retirement wasn't an option this year. Really struggling to breath at the top of Scald Law in the wind and just had general abysmal feels so had to walk a bit to recover before trundling on hoping that things might get better. They didn't, but in some ways it was kind of cool getting blown around so much.. maybe. Knee wasn't massively happy with the steep downs but it wasn't massively unhappy either. Couldn't really muster any racing mindset at any point but I made it to the finish, collapsed for a bit and then felt very spaced for a quite a while, nice.

An unsurprising stinker of a run but happy to have done it, knee doesn't seem to have reacted too badly, I didn't fall on it, and the other lads completely smashed it and won the team sword, so everything is good. Big kudos to them for some very impressive running.

Easy Morningside loop with Tim, Tam and Sasha for a little bit. Good stuff, knee feeling alright but had some doms in my hip flexors from my big mileage yesterday.

Note

Went to doctors for knee check up this morning, they said it was looking good and no need for any more drugos after I finish the antibiotics tomorrow.

Round the Seat with a little pop up the crags. Very nice to be out and about but had to put up with Tim being slow and wanting to do a photo-shoot, that boy and his Instagram ey.

Knee feeling respectable, still a little pain but a lot better than a couple of weeks ago so would say it was a definite success overall. Will try my best to be sensible for a little while then can hopefully resume some good mileage soon enough.
