Road running 58:44 [2] 12.18 km (4:49 / km)

Chelsea Bridge loop. No Garmin so went a bit faster than I meant to. Still felt nice and easy though.

Surbiton Street-O. Ok so street-O doesn't feature in the Pfitzinger plan, but it would have been rather rude not to do this event on my doorstep. Pleased I did - I reckon this was the best street-O race I've ever executed, both in terms of identifying a good high-scoring route and in getting good control flow throughout. The running also felt good and strong, and so all in all it was a very good night's work. Home advantage definitely helped, having organised a few events here in the past - not for knowing any of the answers (I didn't), but for pretty much always knowing where I was, knowing where to turn at junctions without any hesitation etc. Still, very pleasing to finally get a win in the street-O series after three 2nd places in my last 3 events - looking at my (rather geeky) O-results spreadsheet, this is my first SLOW street-O event win for 9 years (during which time I've come 2nd place 7 times, and 3rd place 10 times). About time too!

Regent's Park. Wet, windy, muddy, waterlogged and generally all rather unpleasant.

Home to Thames Path / Bushy Park and back. Good session - marathon pace is beginning to feel a lot more comfortable now. Hard to gauge properly how things are at, as it felt like most of the run today I either had the wind against me, which felt very hard, or with me making it seem easy. Last few km back home felt very tough in particular with the wind and the small climb back to Surbiton. But still, all looking good and this run breezed by - now looking forward to a slightly easier week ahead.

Work to Hyde Park. It's actually felt like a relatively easy week - lots of mileage (98km in the last 5 days!) but all fairly steady running (though doing each long run as a progression run through the paces as usual). My only really hard session of the week will be Sunday's planned long marathon pace run, which will be a good test of where things are at. Nice to knock out another quick lunchtime half marathon today for just my third longest run of the week.
