Surbiton Street-O. Ok so street-O doesn't feature in the Pfitzinger plan, but it would have been rather rude not to do this event on my doorstep. Pleased I did - I reckon this was the best street-O race I've ever executed, both in terms of identifying a good high-scoring route and in getting good control flow throughout. The running also felt good and strong, and so all in all it was a very good night's work. Home advantage definitely helped, having organised a few events here in the past - not for knowing any of the answers (I didn't), but for pretty much always knowing where I was, knowing where to turn at junctions without any hesitation etc. Still, very pleasing to finally get a win in the street-O series after three 2nd places in my last 3 events - looking at my (rather geeky) O-results spreadsheet, this is my first SLOW street-O event win for 9 years (during which time I've come 2nd place 7 times, and 3rd place 10 times). About time too!
