Putting out controls for the day event.
These were the first events for which we charged money, and the turnout was lower than it had been. We got about 38 individuals at the night-O (which exceeded expectations!) and about 17 during the day (which was well below expectations.) We'll have to see if attendance increases as we head into spring and aren't going up against skiing on the weekends.
The events themselves went pretty well, including testing out epunch for the first time. We had a snafu with a malfunctioning generator during the night-O, which means we were unable to do live results, but we should be able to fix that by the next event. A huge shout-out to Valerie and QOC for donations of epunch equipment, and to COC and OCIN for generous loans of equipment for the season.

https://www.grizzlyorienteering.org/copy-of-decemb...When collecting controls, two units were missing. Alli then spotted two boys walking around, whom she had seen in the vicinity of controls earlier. She asked them if they had seen SI boxes (showing them what those were), and the boys pulled the missing boxes out of their pockets and surrendered them... Close call. We certainly have to be careful with them, especially in urban venues, and add warning labels.
