In Varberg for Mike and Marie's wedding!

Neil, Alli and I went for a run from our campsite into Varberg, taking the opportunity to run H20 courses from the Swedish sprint champs 2007. The qual went well, except for one place where the map really was too out of date. I struggled in the final, and Neil easily ran away from me. Have a lot to work on before WOC. Beautiful running along the shore back to the campsite.

Orienteering training on Lunsen, starting from Plantskolan.
Here is the course: http://www.dxdeluxe.se/linnekartparmen/show_map.ph...

It was a mixed sort of day: some legs felt really good and smooth, and others were just terrible. Really need to get back into orienteering - just a two-week break is enough to throw me off the groove I was getting into around Tiomila.

Stockholm City Cup Stage 1

Really nice course on a small island off the coast of Södermalm. I didn't sign up ahead of time, but convinced the organizers to let me run the competitive class and start 30 seconds before the first official start. That worked out well, and I was alone for most of the course. Ran mostly a good race technically, taking routes that worked well for me. I overran #11, looking for a control on a tree when it really sat on a road corner a few meters away from the tree. I was also confused on 19 and lost another 15 seconds there.
I ended up 63rd, nearly 5 minutes down on the very impressive Jonas Leandersson: http://eventor.orientering.se/Events/ResultList?ev...

It feels like I should be able to run about a minute faster just speed-wise. I think the week after the US Champs and the trip back to Europe from California have taken a toll. Time to get back to training!

Alli did a great job in the women's race, surpassing her goal of beating 2 people by beating 23. :)

A really nice dinner with Andrew afterwards. I love Stockholm City Cups! I wish there were more than just three this year.

A welcome-home run with Alli in Stadsskogen. Nice to get out after a long trip. Everything is so much greener in Uppsala than when I left for the US!
