Orienteering 2:09:25 [3] 15.95 km (8:07 / km) +61m 7:58 / km

A long run on Östfora, just east of the maps embargoed for SM 2014. Some crusted snow on the ground made for tough running. I had pretty tired legs from the beginning and was working too hard to keep up with the pack, so I dropped back around #12, and Ross mercifully stayed back with me. We ran the rest together, cutting from control 24 to 30, and really enjoyed the beautiful woods. Ross navigated really well, and we were hitting controls pretty well until getting tired and falling apart in the last 15 minutes or so.

I failed at easy week.

OK Linné Tiomila training day

Mass start forked courses on Salinge Syd. I did the shorter course (6.6km), and ended up chasing the pack in the beginning after my route choice to #1, made by indecision, put me dead last. Ran well after that and ended up with Björn and Cat T after a while, running together but going off to our separate forks. Björn and I made a mistake on the last control, and Cat got ahead.

Running 1:19:52 intensity: (20:00 @1) + (33:52 @2) + (26:00 @5) 9.43 mi (8:28 / mi) +73m 8:16 / mi

Intervals in Ekebydalen. Almost quit after the first one, as the body just wasn't responding, but it seemed to get better and better as the workout went on, and I ended up doing the whole set. Very satisfying to get through the workout, and so much fun doing it with the group.
We did 2x4+4x2+4x1+8x0:30+8x0:15.

KG-UltraSprint by Hamelius

After two training sessions and pizza at the clubhouse, Johan had a surprise for us. Here is what it looked like: http://projektmeteorit.blogspot.com/2012/02/var-kg...

T.rex training 50:00 [1]

SnyggMagnus jympa. Felt surprisingly energetic tonight, which means lot of sweating.

Really fun sprint intervals that Johan designed in Gottsunda. He converted the regular map to ISSOM standards, which made it more fun to orienteer, but also meant that a lot of details were left off. With an update to the map, this would be a great sprint area.

We ran forked sprint intervals, making for total chaos, with people running in all different directions the entire time. I had good speed and orienteered well but was getting tired around control 45 and jogged the last three intervals.

Running 40:00 [2] 6.67 km (6:00 / km)
shoes: VJ Supra Spring 2012

Hanging some streamers for the first ultrasprint and running around between the ultrasprints and home.

Orienteering 9:00 [4]

Two ultrasprints set by Johan in the morning, one at Högbergsparken and one at Kung Björn's Hill. Lots of fun, though the icy trails and snow-covered rocks made things a bit more difficult. I love ultrasprints!

UOF Night Cup - Stenhagen

After helping Simon get himself organized in time for the race (packing maps, setting up the start, etc.), I ran the middle course because I wanted to navigate on my own rather than trying to chase the faster pack by their footprints in the snow. (I realize that I can navigate on my own even in a pack, but competitive instincts tend to take over too quickly.) This mostly went well, and I was on my own after the long course split off from the middle. I ran well except for misreading a control code on one of the sprint controls in the end and doing a loop before coming back to the same control and reading the code correctly this time. It started raining towards the end, and the world was covered in ice by the end of the evening. A delicious dinner courtesy of Sam and Ross and a game of Carcassonne with Per Forsberg of OUOC fame made for an excellent evening.

Oh yeah, and here is some idea of what we do on Monday nights: http://projektmeteorit.blogspot.com/2012/02/en-hel...

Tisdagsbana K

A pretty relaxed pace today. Warm and icy in the forest. Ran mostly with Johan H and Johan A, and then with Tomas, Rasa, Cat T, and Ivana towards the end. An enjoyable session in contrast to last week's death march of a tisdagsbana.
