Sydney Summer Series #22 - Bedlam Point / Gladesville Hospital
Finally managed to get all the controls in time - with 10 seconds to spare. At least four others managed the same, with Andy being a full two minutes faster.
It was a good run for me, with no real problems navigating.
The only snag happened when, on the way to my third control (#24), I was running down a path and writing the code from the previous control on the punchcard (that's what you do in these Wednesday races - each control has a two-letter code on it, and you record these in your card instead of punching). Apparently, I did not notice a waist-high metal pole located in the middle of the path and hit it at full speed. I did a flip right over it. The next thing I remember is getting up off the ground, bleeding a little, a bit shaken up, and a bunch of idiot cricket players nearby laughing at me. After flipping them off and collecting my senses, I kept going. Not much damage in the end - just a badly scraped elbow and some bruises on my side, but sort of scary when it happened anyway. Could have just easily smashed my head against the ground.
Map tomorrow.

Update: morning after feeling achy all over, with a nice bruise on my lower back. Must have done a full somersault to manage that? Also, sheets covered in bloodstains. Oops.
