Note

Well, I managed to survive my debut as a course setter for a Swedish national event without any major catastrophes. The weather, which has been fairly nasty the past week, cooperated beyond belief to make for a 20C day with a perfect blue sky. People seemed pretty pleased with the courses, and my predicted winning times for H21 and D21 were right on. The only thing that could have been better was my D10 course, which appeared to be on the hard side with a winning time of 33 minutes. On the other hand, H10 had the same exact course and was won in 24 minutes. Strange.
All in all, course-setting was a positive experience, and I got all the help and support I needed as long as I asked for it. I would consider doing this again in a couple of years.
Off to Sapporo tomorrow.

Note

Coordinated the pre-running of my courses for Sunday's event. Things mostly went well, except it was discovered that the mapper accidentally erased two whole contour lines right before the map was printed! Grrrr. Still, things went well otherwise. I am still nervous about Sunday, but less so now.
