Running 2:22:15 [2] 23.5 km (6:03 / km)
shoes: Saucony 2006

I know this is supposed to be an easy week, but I took a day off yesterday and felt like I earned the right to go for a long run today. (Having a day off felt miserable - i didn't know what to do with myself all day.) So this ended up being a longer-than-planned run with Ulrik and Micke. We ran past the backbana start, then south through Ultuna to Sunnersta, across the Flottsund bridge, then to Nantuna, and then on some random paths for a while until we came to a field and decided to cross it and try to get to the bridge that goes across Fyris river at the bottom of backbana. After almost a km of running through this field, we came to a halt at a stream, about 6-7meters across, tried to find a bridge, failed, and ended up having to run all the way around on roads, adding an extra halfhour to the run. Oh well, good company and good conversation helped make the run in 5cm of snow go by quicker. And the sauna (bastu) afterwards didn't hurt.

Orienteering 30:00 [4] 5.0 km (6:00 / km)
shoes: Saucony 2006

Sprint orienteering intervals in Gottsunda on the very slippery, icy and snowy roads and paths. It was fun, though i didn't run at 100% as I was afraid of falling and splitting my head open, and Zan and i were glad to actually make it to training after an adventurous and, at times, dangerous bike ride from home.

Running 1:00:00 [3] 10.5 km (5:43 / km) +575m 4:29 / km
shoes: Montrail Trail Shoes

Hill training with the club, organized by Andreas at Sunnersta. Start at the bottom, run a 1km loop that includes two hills (55m climb total per loop) and take splits at the SI units at the tops of the hills. A nice run with a bit of snow falling the whole time. Didn't get any splits, though, as Andreas' computer battery died during the run. I tried to keep a pretty even pace the whole time and felt like 10 was the right number of loops to run.

Note

I got my orthotics today. As I expected, they didn't really fit into my O-shoes, which are probably the most important shoes for my foot to have support for. Oh well, I'll start by putting them in my walking and running shoes and see how it goes.
