First attempt to run/orienteer after spraining my ankle at the Troll Cup. I tried doing the orange course at a local meet in central Ohio. I ran with an active ankle that Sergei graciously lent me. Unfortunately, my ankle was still so swollen that the active ankle just squeezed it a lot, making it very uncomfortable to run, especially downhill. I quit after the first control and returned to the start.
Running 11:09 [2] 1.44 mi (7:45 / mi)
Jogging around a grassy field around the start after taking off the active ankle. Felt a lot better, but still not very strong.
Orienteering 16:54 [3] 2.0 km (8:27 / km)
Apparently, my dad volunteered me to pick up controls at this meet ahead of time, so i obliged and collected the white course and a couple of other controls, running without the active ankle and being careful about where i placed my foot. Not too bad, though it swelled up after we got home.
