Skiing 1:00:00 [2]

Classicing at Middlebury. Nasty clister weather, and i was getting sore and tired by the end of the day. This was a fantastic ski vacation, but i think it's time for a break.

Friday Feb 21, 2003 #

Skiing 1:30:00 [2]

Lots of skating at Middlebury - watching the Collegiate Eastern Champs and rooting for the Harvard team. A bunch of skiing before, during, and after the races.

Thursday Feb 20, 2003 #

Skiing 1:55:00 [2]

Long classic ski by myself at Waterville in shorts and a t-shirt! We've gone from -30F on Saturday to about 40F on Thursday! Wow. I had a great time and took lots of pictures.

Note

About 3 hours of snowboarding in the morning in great weather at Waterville Valley.

Some skating and a lot of double poling in 6 inches of fresh snow at Newmarket, NH with Erin and Misha. Lots of fun, beautiful.

Monday Feb 17, 2003 #

Skiing 1:55:00 [2]

Some fun easy classicing with Misha and Ken Walker Sr. at Viking Ski Center in Vermont. I wonder if we can ski in a different area every day this week...

Running 13:39 [3] 1.98 mi (6:54 / mi)

Running to Prospect Park for (cruise?) intervals. Slippery and icy throughout.

Running 23:05 [5] 3.66 mi (6:18 / mi)

Some sort of intervals at Prospect Park - 3 min hard, 2 min easy (5 reps). Ran a little harder than the same workout last week, felt good until the last minute of the last interval, where I had to push. Still ticked off at myself for totally botching the road race on Sunday. Grrrrr.

Running 16:32 [2] 2.13 mi (7:46 / mi)

Back home

Sunday Feb 9, 2003 #

Running 19:35 [5] 3.1 mi (6:19 / mi)

Half a road race at Central Park. Felt exhausted from the start - not sleeping for three days is showing... Must sleep next week.

Running 15:00 [2] 1.88 mi (7:59 / mi)

Easy running

Skiing 2:10:00 [2]

Skiing at Fahnestock State Park with Sergei, Greg, and Declan. Felt tired, but was able to keep decent technique most of the time.

Thursday Feb 6, 2003 #

Running 13:15 [3] 1.98 mi (6:41 / mi)

To Prospect Park to meet Sergei for an easy run.

Running 37:17 [2] 4.97 mi (7:30 / mi)

Easy run with Sergei all over the park.

Running 2:00 [5] 0.32 mi (6:15 / mi)

Strides with Sergei after the run, 5x100m.

Running 13:17 [3] 1.98 mi (6:42 / mi)

Home from Prospect Park. For the first time, I am actually excited at the thought of a road race - the 10km in Central Park Sergei convinced me to do with him this Sunday.

Orienteering 13:37 [3] 1.98 mi (6:53 / mi)

To Prospect Park for some intervals, angry at myself for skipping the workout yesterday after being kept after school by some Evil Russian People (ERPs).

Running 23:09 [5] 3.65 mi (6:21 / mi)

Some sort of intervals in Prospect Park. I decided to do something closer to what Vlad recommended - longer interval (3:00), shorter rest (2:00). It worked nicely, and I hope to gradually increase the interval and decrease the rest. I felt stronger for each of the first four intervals, but weaker on the last one.

Running 16:08 [2] 2.25 mi (7:10 / mi)

Cooling down and running home.

T.rex training 30:00 [2]

Some excess energy when I got home.

Hey, Misha's in town! Maybe I'll even see him tonight. If anyone is wondering if his triumphant return to orienteering is imminent.....stay tuned . :(

Orienteering 1:45:21 [3] 15.05 km (7:00 / km)

Running around at South Mountain. First did an old red course, then a green, and did a bunch of running in between and afterwards. Felt really good, i think taking a couple of days off was a good idea. Will take tomorrow off too...
