Orienteering race 24:36 [3] ** 2.49 mi (9:53 / mi) +62ft 9:39 / mi
13c shoes: Salomon Fellraiser yellow

I switched to the short course, so I wouldn't aggravate my back. It felt OK, but tightened up some near the finish, so it was probably a good decision. Night + plastic map bag + rain made it challenging to read the map.

Orienteering race 26:09 [3] 2.03 mi (12:53 / mi)
31c shoes: Salomon Sense Pro

Redemption after mispunching last year. There were fewer controls this year, so the maps weren't as cluttered. I had a solid race, although my running speed isn't close to where it was last year. Finished in 4th, a couple of minutes behind 3rd, but about 5 minutes ahead of 5th.

Note

I planned to go climbing at the Vertical Endeavors grand opening in Bloomington, but was concerned after hurting my back this morning. So I took some ibuprofen and iced my back, and figured I would give it a try. Unfortunately, after sitting in the car to get there, I could barely walk upright. But I hobbled in anyway, to check it out. It looks great. I heard one kid tell someone that this is the largest location, and is about the size of the St Paul and Minneapolis gyms combined (I've never been to the Mpls location). I ended up bailing out.
