Hiking 6:00:00 [3] 12.5 mi (28:48 / mi)
shoes: Montrail Gentorx

Gunflint Lodge weekend. Long hike from the lodge to Bridal Falls, about 5k on gravel roads, then 5k on the Border Route Trail, then the return trip. The trip out was good, but my knee started hurting a lot on the return trip.

I navigated cleanly, except for 2 mistakes. I must have barely missed 206, and hit the wrong reentrant. I ended up going ahead to 217, and coming back for 206. On the way from 208 to 216, I thought I was at the reentrant north of the control, so I crossed it to continue south, only to realize that I was actually right by 216, and had to cross back over to get it.

My route was 218, 219, 221, 223, 224, 225, 228, 227, 222, 226, 220, 217, 206, 208, 216, 215, 202, 213, 209, 207

The GPS file is not uploading... grrr!
EDIT: After a lot of struggling, and then a long conversation with Garmin tech support, and a master reset of my watch, I got the GPS file.

Note

I am now dogless. Kaylie went to live with my parents for the next couple of weeks.

Miscellaneous Activity (Rehab) 10:00 [3]

Kept it brief, since my foot and ankle are sore from earlier -- my first time actually running off trail since spraining my ankle in November.
