Mountain biking (Rail trail, paved trail) 2:45:00 [3] 32.95 mi (12.0 mph)
The Dirt Divas were doing some mountain biking (an hour or so) in Windsor today. So I decided to make a day of it, and rode my mountain bike to the city on the Greenway. I haven't done that before. Within 10 km, I was longing for my Brooks saddle (and at one time, I thought the WTB saddle on my mountain bike was awesome). But I got used to it, and it didn't really bother me the rest of the day.

There was a fundraiser obstacle course race taking part at Mt Malden, so we skirted around the edge of that for a bit. Then down to the Ojibway nature centre and over to Black Oaks (which had been closed for several months as the city made some adjustments to the trail network that had been developed there.) I won't make any more comments on that, other than it was very nice to be back riding in there.
We rode along side the construction for the Gordie Howe bridge. I can't wait to ride across it! Hopefully I can still ride a bike by the time it is done.......

Paul had biked up to Windsor by a slightly different route, and met me at Mt Malden once we were done our single track riding. Then we rode home. I was dreading the headwind, but it was at least partially a cross wind, so it was a bit more of a slog than the trip north in the morning. And it suddenly got hot. I did my 2 minute nap thing on a shady bench half way home (I had gotten up very early this morning, thanks to an over-enthusiastic cat). My arms/wrists weren't happy with the amount of time I had spent on the mountain bike today. We stopped at Harrow for ice cream, then realized that there was a storm system heading at us. So we booked it for home, flying down the Greenway with a tail wind (finishing our milk shakes). We could see a wall of rain half a concession to the north of us, but we were just in showers (got soaked anyways, but at least it was warm today!). I had a good dry bag to put my phone in this time! I later found out that that wall of rain we saw contained winds that knocked over trees and flipped patio furniture. Eeks.
