OCIN South Bend Chapter meet at Baugo Creek Park, set by Thurston Miller. Hot, humid day and lots of trail running with a few controls in green areas off the trail. Got confused with trails on C10 but fixed it fairly quickly. Messed up C13 by paralleling trail from C12 rather than going directly east there was a problem with the map in the area of the control. Ended up on an unmapped trail between C18 and C19 and went too far N to the road. Walked from C19 to the end as my toe was hurting and I'd had enough trying to run in the heat and humidity.

warm-up run to Meadowbrook lollipop. I called the podiatrist office to make an appt to get the orthotics checked and they recommended that I stop wearing them until I go in so this run was back in old shoes without orthotics

lollipop 800 m's with 1 min active recovery and 30 sec standing recovery. It was 90oF and really humid so with my low fitness level, I only got 4 laps as run and one as a walk.

Tried out orthotics in a new pair of shoes. I usually wear stability shoes but the salesperson at Athletic Annex recommended using a neutral shoe. Seemed to do fine walking.
