Brown course at OLOU's Otter Creek Ohio Valley Interscholastics meet. Bright sun and 50 degree temps made it a great day to be out on this easy (mostly yellow?) course.

Tried to make up for the short running distance with a walk around Mystic Bay and was rewarded with a sighting of a Great Blue Heron and a beaver along the shore. Pleasant evening for a walk.

OCIN Miami Whitewater Green course set by Shane Dewalt. It was great to get out on a real advanced course in the woods. I struggled on C1 and took some time to adjust to the 1:10000 map scale often expecting my control much too early. By C9 I was tired of climbing the hills and the thunderstorm was moving in so I took the easy bail to the finish.

OCIN Sharon Woods Red course set by Matthew Robins. This was mostly a runners course with a couple of controls on the south end of the map in the deeper woods. C1 took a couple of minutes to get into the map, bad route course across the green for C14, and went up the wrong reentrant for C16. I can feel my fitness wasting away with this semester's teaching schedule.
